What time can I check in?

In Utrecht, the room or cabin will be ready for check-in at 3:00 p.m.

In Amsterdam, the room or cabin will be ready for check-in at 3:00 PM.

How can I check in?

You can register online through the email that we will send you before your arrival, or you can register automatically in our lobby. Our hosts are always willing to help and accommodate you.

What time do I need to check out?

As a general rule, the departure time is at 11 in the morning. If you stay in a room and prefer to sleep a little longer, you just have to ask our hosts for a later check-out time. If available, the departure time can be extended until 13:00 or 15:00. Late checkout is not available if you are staying in a cabin.

I arrive early, can I leave my luggage somewhere?

Of course. We have secure lockers available for a small fee. In fact, they are the cheapest rooms we have 😉

Booking

Is it possible to change my booking?

As long as you haven’t booked a non-refundable rate, which is final (see our Terms & Conditions), you can change your booking up to 24 hours prior to your arrival.

Oops, I forgot my parents’ anniversary. Is possible to cancel?

Flexible rates can be cancelled up to 24 hours before your arrival. For group bookings and non-refundable rates, you can read all of the rules over in our Terms & Conditions. Small print, big stakes.

How can I cancel my booking?

If you’ve booked a flexible rate, you can cancel your booking up to 24 hours before your arrival, either on the website you booked through, or by following the link in your booking confirmation email.

Do I need to pay for my booking online?

Non-refundable bookings must be paid for online at the moment you book. For other bookings, a credit card guarantee will do just fine.

I don’t have a credit card, can I still book a room?

Yes, with PayPal or iDeal. You can also use a credit or debit card to guarantee your booking.

What’s happening in town?

Our hosts are the coolest kids around, so don’t hesitate to ask them what’s going on in town. They will give you all the ins and outs of the best places to be and see. They might even join you! But if you’re a bit shy, you can find their advice in GuestCompass for Utrecht or Amsterdam.

What’s happening at Bunk?

We host our own events with local artists, poets and musicians. You can read all about those here. It’s a little taste of local culture just a small crawl away from your bed.

Do the hosts ever sleep?

Yep, but they take turns. Bunk is staffed 24/7, so you can find a host in our lobby at any time. They all double as baristas, too, so if you’re craving a coffee at 3AM, they can whip you up a good one in no time.

How can I give you feedback about my stay?

If you have any complaints, good advice or bad jokes, we’d love to hear ‘em. My babysitter is unavailable. Can I bring my kids?

If you are staying in a room, you are welcome to bring your child, but we do not have any baby cots or foldaway beds available, and our rooms are quite compact. We do have rooms designed to sleep three, four or even five people, though, so there should be comfortable options for you to book.

I’m a minor, can I stay at Bunk?

Guests who are under the age of 18 cannot stay in our shared hostel accommodation (the pods), whether accompanied by an adult or not. They can, however, stay in a private room when accompanied by an adult. That means any human over 18 years old. (:

Can I bring my pet?

Unfortunately, animals are not allowed in our rooms, so no pets can stay overnight. Pets are welcome in our bar and restaurant, though – we’ve even got a special supply of pup-friendly holy water on tap to keep them happy and hydrated. Plus, we have Robin: the founding father of Bunk. Please take care of him when you see him wandering around.

Where can I smoke?

Bunk is a non-smoking hotel, but you are more than welcome to enjoy a cigarette outside. To smoke anything stronger, we recommend visiting one of The Netherlands’ notorious coffee shops. Please note that smoking pot, weed, marijuana (or whatever you like to call it) is technically prohibited in all outdoor public areas.

Food & Drinks

How can I make a reservation in the restaurant?

You can book a table over on our restaurant page for Utrecht or Amsterdam. To keep things personal and spontaneous, we only take a limited number of reservations. You are always welcome to drop in and check for a table if you haven’t been able to book one.

Does Bunk do breakfast, lunch and dinner?

We sure do! You can check our menus here and here. In Utrecht, our all-day breakfast and lunch is available from 07.30, all the way until 16.00. That gives you a whole chunk of time to start your day on the right foot. In Amsterdam, breakfast is from 07.30 to 11.30 and lunch items are available from 12.00 to 16.00. In both locations, our dinner menu is available from 17.00 until 22.30. In short, you can eat all day long! And for the coffee snobs (like ourselves), our baristas brew café level coffee whenever you like.

Can I prebook breakfast?

Not only can you prebook breakfast, it’s actually cheaper than ordering à la carte. You can prebook breakfast online or with our hosts when you arrive. If you haven’t pre-booked, you can always order à la carte.

I’m arriving late at night and I have the munchies. Is there anything left to eat?

Always! In Amsterdam we have a small store with snacks, and there are always vending machines filled with nibbles and bits that you can raid.

Do you have a kitchen where I can cook my own meals?

We don’t have guest kitchens, but the restaurant and bar in each hotel can help make sure you’re never hungry.

I have an allergy. And my mate follows a special diet. How do you deal with that?

Please let the staff know before ordering food. They’ll see to it that your meal is both safe and tasty.

Bunk Rooms

Is there a safe in the room?

Yes, all of our rooms have safes that will fit a 13” laptop. If you’ve got a few too many valuables for that space, we also have larger lockers that you can use for a small charge.

My hair is a mess! Where is the hairdryer?

There’s a hairdryer in every room. It’s under your sink. You’re welcome 😉

How big are the rooms?

The Standard Room is 8m2 and has all of the amenities you could possibly need.

What amenities are in the rooms?

USB and EU power plugs, fast Wi-Fi, an LED TV you can use to stream from Netflix and other providers, storage space, shelves, wall mirror, a luxury bathroom with a high-pressure rain shower, Zenology soaps, lotion and shampoo.

How often are you going to clean my room?

For the duration of your stay, room cleaning is done every third day. If you’d like additional cleaning, we can do that for a small fee. You can either add on the extra cleaning while booking, or simply ask one of our friendly hosts at the hotel once you’re here. They can also always help you with fresh towels when you need them.

BUNK PODS

Is the bed already made up when I arrive?

Yes, the bed is made up and waiting for you in your pod, with a soft towel on top.

So, you have towels. What else do I not need to bring?

We’ve got pretty much everything you need for a comfortable stay: towels, soap, shampoo, hairdryers – and yes, we have an iron, too. But do bring your own flip flops! Plus, the usual things, like your own toothbrush and toothpaste. Should you forget something, no worries! We have the standard bits and bobs available for purchase in our reception shop.

Do the pods come with a safe?

You can find luggage storage under your pod, or you can make use of our lockers for a small charge.

What other amenities are in the pods?

Our pods are each equipped with EU power outlets and USB ports. You’ll have access to our furiously fast free Wi-Fi from the comfort of your bed, and you can adjust your LED lighting to any colour of the rainbow.

Can I buy a travel adaptor?

Yes! You can buy an adaptor in our reception shop. Just ask a member of our team to help you out.

How big are the mattresses?

A Pod for 1 has a bed of 90 cm x 210 cm.

A Pod for 2 has a bed of 160 cm x 210 cm.

Can I sit up straight in my pod?

You should be able to! Unless you’re André the Giant, there is plenty of space above your bed to sit up properly.

How often are you going to clean my pod?

Cleaning of the bedlinen is done every fifth day, for the duration of your stay with us. Need extra towels? Simply ask one of our friendly hosts – they’re always happy to help.

Do you have any laundry facilities?

We don’t have any laundry services within the hotel, but there are laundromats and dry-cleaning services close to our locations. Ask the host where you can get your dirty laundry cleaned.

PARKING

How does the car parking work in Amsterdam?

Bunk Amsterdam has a number of parking spots available on site, for a small fee of €15. If you’d like to guarantee a spot will be waiting for you when get here, book your stay using the promo code PARKWITHBUNK. Otherwise, you can just ring the bell on arrival.

Where can I park my car in Utrecht?

We don’t have our own parking spots at Bunk Utrecht, but you can park nearby at the Paardenveld car park! Paardenveld means ‘horse field’ – pretty good name for a parking spot in a medieval town, right? Other spaces close to our hotel are the MobyPark (click this link for a discount), the Vredenburg car park or the P5. We also have discount code BUNK20 for parking at ParkBee Knipstraat, Daalsesingel A, Daalsesingel B and Kroonstraat.

BIKE RENTAL AND PARKING

Can I rent a bike from you?

You can, and you should! There’s no better way to explore the city than on one of our beautiful, sturdy Bunk bikes, courtesy of local brand Van Moof. It’s €12 to rent a Bunk bike for 6 hours, €19 for a full day and €17 for every additional day.

What’s with all the big locks?

The Netherlands is home to some of the shittiest bikes with some of the prettiest locks. Your rental bike is way nicer than most of the bikes rolling around, which makes it a good target for theft. So, we offer bike locking courses for free. And free is around €250 cheaper than a stolen bike will cost you.

Where is the bike parking in Amsterdam?

We do not have any guarded bike parking garages nearby Bunk Amsterdam, but there are plenty of public spaces available just in front of our building.

Is there bike parking in Utrecht?

We do not have our own guarded parking garage at Bunk Utrecht, but there are limited public spaces available on the street outside of our building. There are also two guarded bicycle parking garages within walking distance of the hotel, Bicycle Parking Utrecht Vredenburg (Vredenburg 46, 3511BD Utrecht) and Bicycle Storage Laag Catherijne (Catherijnesingel 28, 3511 GB Utrecht). At both garages, parking is free for the first 24 hours and €0,60 each subsequent day.
